It finally came

He left us suddenly on Monday morning at 9.52am =( It was really a great shock to all of us...None of us expect him to leave just like that. Even my grandmother always thought that she'd be the first to leave us.

My paternal grandfather, who fell down 12 days before he passed away. He came out of the toilet and fell, broke his leg bone and was supposed to go the operation. And so last sat, he went for the surgery. Everything went well, we were preparing for his recovery and looking on ways how the physiotherapist can come to help him recover from the operation. After the operation, the doctor said that grandpa has pneumoia. He was well and could talk, eat and show no signs of fatal illness at all. We all thought he'd come out healthly and I think he too.

But on Monday morning, after having a sip of oats and even did some strecting while lying down, he complained of chest pain. So my uncle went to call the nurse, came in and he was unconsious already. They resusitated him and was stable. Then, my dad and uncle went back to change. The other uncle came in and took over, and grandpa collapsed again and this time they couldn't revive him.

When dad called me, I was in the office, getting ready for the meeting. The news was a great shocked!!! I never thought he'd just leave us just like that. Just on Friday, when I spoke to him, asking him if he was afraid of the operation, he said not at all. I had even a serious operation compare to this, grandpa said. But now he's no longer here with me, with us and the family =(

I really miss his presence among us. It's so different to not have him with us now in all our gatherings. For 24 years, he has been with us. 64 years with my grandma. Everytime when I go back to Kuching or Sri Aman, it will never be the same again. It's now without grandpa.

I love you grandpa...wish I could have spoken to you on sunday. But you were sleeping. I miss you a lot.
